The Saint Florian Center Tobacco Free Partnership is dedicated to educating the community on the harmful affects of tobacco products, and provides opportunities to obtain free cessation classes and resources.  Image
Our goal is to:
1. Decrease the overall cigarette smoking rate in Indiana
2. Decrease the current cigarette smoking rates among middle and high school students
3. Decrease the percent of babies born to mothers who smoked during pregnancy
4. Increase the number of individuals who have access to a smoking cessation program

 

  • VOICE- A youth oriented, youth led group of middles and high school students who inform their peers and others abouth the dangers of tobacco and creatively fight Big Tobacco's efforts to recruit young smokers. www.Voice.tv
  • Cessation- Are you ready to quit? We can help you prepare to quit smoking. We offer individual sessions and group sessions that can be brought to your organization or to your worksite. Our program consists of four 1-hour sessions at no charge (FREE).   • Minority Population- The Ethnic Tobacco Control Network (ETCN) targets minority populations in Marion County because (a) Each year, approximately 45,000 African Americans die from a preventable smoking related disease; (b) The smoking rate of Hoosier African Americans is higher than that for African Americans in any other state; (c) Smoking significantly increases the risk of Stroke, Heart Disease, & Cancers; (d) An R. J. Reynolds Tobacco Industry said "We don't smoke that $#!%...we just sell it. We reserve that right for the young, the poor, the black, and the stupid."
  • SmokeFree Indy-  Smokefree Air for everyone! EXPECT IT & ENJOY IT!  You are welcome to join our coalition of individuals, professionals, and not for profit organizations.   • SFC Tobacco Free Partnership- A collaboration of organizations that disseminate information, bring awareness, and host smokefree events for youth and adults in Marion County. Examples include health fairs, school carnivals, church programs, commubity forums, barbership blitz, art contest, and many other creative activities. Our current partners include: Christ Church Holiness, East 10th United Methodist Church, Indianapolis Black Firefighter's Association, Mary Rigg Neighborhood Center, McClendon Tabernacle CME Church, Phillips Temple CME Church, True Faith CME Church.
